Last night I was weeding through my S3 caps trying to organized for our upcoming Season 3 picspam of Brian and trying to decide if we should include any from the cha cha scene. The main reason against it is that we just recently done a picspam on from that scene which you can find here at BitchesofBritin and another reason is it's a diffcult scene to clean up and make pretty so I was silently debating with myself whether to bother. But the more I was looking at the caps, the more I wondered what it would look like in black and white. So I decided to give it a try.

The end is result is it's even more of dreamy, tender and emotional scene. Brian happiness is so palpable and his hand's!! I've always thought he had the most elegant hands and never more so when he's touching Justin.

I decided to do a totally fandom list instead of a general list.

1) Computer.

It makes me happy to be able to have time to sit with my computer and serf the net whether I'm playing on lj or ij. To catch up with my flist or just general fandom news. To be touched by someones words or artistic work.

2) A tale of teh love

What is this you may wonder? It's a small but lovely photo album that happier_bunny made and sent me that is filled with pretty pictures of Brian and Justin. It has a special spot at my computer desk where I can always pick it up and look at it. The pixs are gorgeous and the words are meaningful.

3) Queer as Folk DVD S1-S5.

They have been getting a workout lately as I've been busy lately capping pixs for bitchesofbritin WIP Brian Kinney Eye Candy with a Soul picspam. It's also handy to have when I'm in the mood to watch some eppies. I admit though that Season 5 is just pretty much collecting dust. I'm sorry Ai, but the only way I will ever love that season like I love the others is if you have me hypnotize. I can watch some eppies and others hmmm...no, just no. Besides it's not as pretty IMO as the other DVD boxes).

I also love and I mean love to watch the extras that they offer. The bloopers are so great. Seriously I can't be in a bad mood after watching them.

4)Affirmation....Fan Vid by f1renze. Push comes to shove, I would have to say that this is probably my all time favorite vid. It's the perfect marriage of music and clips. To me it just embodies everything that I feel about the show and what it represents. Never fails, every time I watch it, I just get swept away with memories and emotions.

5)zaipixie graphics. Honestly no one touches me like she does with her graphics. I'm often left breathless with awe as I look at her work.

6) _in_babylon There was a time when this was like my bible for where to go to stay up on the happenings of this fandom. I discovered so many communities and made so many friends through it. It makes me sad that it's not updated very often anymore.

7) Icons....When I first came to LJ many moons ago, I noticed them in people's post and comments. I didn't know what they were or how to even get one. Through trial and error, I finally learned. You know I probably broke every rule that one shouldn't when they join a fandom. Hotlink???? At first I didn't understand what that was, but I'm sure I was guilty of it. Credit???? Again because of ignorance, I was guilty of that. I shudder when I think of all the mistakes I made as I tried to navigate my way through the fandom. But lucky for me, someone was always willing to answer a question or point out my error. And not in a smug or nasty way, but genuinely wanting to help. That is the best part of fandom, that it not only has a soul but a heart too.

8) Fandom Talk....I love it. Where else can I go to use words like OTP, WTF, SUN, or Justinsnoopydance or hairorgasim or any of the seemingly new words that pop up all the time and yet everyone knows exactly what they mean. LOL...

9) What Love Means I still go here when I can't remember the episode where a scene was or if I'm looking for a quote or a recap. It's not updated anymore but in it's day it was an invaluable and much loved resource. Plus it had great links to some of the best writers, vidders, and graphics.

10) Flist....There are times when I feel as the world has just checked out. Whenever that happens, I can come here and find that isn't true at all. I can draw on the endless supply of confidence, counsel, sympathy, help and love that you all have and are always willing to share. Your friendship is just as precious and as real to me as any in my RL. I love you all.

Eye Candy with a Soul.

Brian A. Kinney, a confident, decisive, intelligent and honest man. He's can be generous and kind when it's called for. Driven and focused in his life, he's always give his best. We like these characteristics a lot. For five seasons, he always remained a compelling, engaging, and enigmatic character who provided us with hours of endless entertainment. Sometimes he broke our hearts, other times we cheered, but always he left us breathless.

So for the next few weeks over at the bitchesofbritin, we plan on doing picspams that celebrate him through all five seasons starting tmorrow Sunday/Monday.

First one up will be Season One Brian. We hope you all will stop by and celebrate the one and only Brian A. Kinney.

A little teaser of what to look forward to.

RL has been hectic for me but I do have a few things to share mostly fandom wise.

First...I've been back in the groove of repixing vids again at qaf_repixed, so please stop by and check out the goings on. This next week, I hope to go through all of the dead links and fix them. Plus, I need to update the memory list. Plus I'm planning to make a profile page for it. I've gotten in this kick of making profile layouts. They are fun to do!

Over at bitchesofbritin we have been busy as well. After our 220 picspam that seriously put a lot of people in a state of depression, we rebounded a few days later with 309 Cha cha cha cha opening scene. So for any that may have missed it, please stop by and check it out. Brian and Justin look so pretty.

And zaipixie and I have been in serious layout making mode. We just recently finished up a layout for jans_intentions. I think it is safe to say that both Ai and myself are fairly proud of it, but more important to us is that Jan is happy with it. And pretty soon, your's truly is going to be doing a bit of a makeover here at my journal as well. Although with this layout, I'm not really doing a whole lot on it. The bulk of it has been on Ai cause it has so many graphics to it. But trust me, it's hot. Red HOT!! Brian and Justin have never looked so good. LOL..

And a shout out must also go to marilla_pm67. On another layout that we recently have done but at the moment doesn't have a home, Sam was our lifesaver. For much of last week, I struggled and struggled with trying to get the codes correct and making adjustments. It would look fine in firefox but look like shit in IE or certain things would be fine in IE and not in firefox browser. Urrrgh.....!!! Both Ai and I were ready to throw in the towel but along comes the Queen of Codes to our rescue. And speaking of Sam, when she isn't busy being a saviour to so many of us here in the fandom, she has been busy with her own baby....a QAF website!! In case you haven't heard, Reminiscent_Designs is up and open. She hosts fiction, screen caps, and other assorted fandom things. So be sure to stop by and check it out. Drop her a comment if you please.

So tonight we posted over at the bitchesofbritin journal. It is a special post.

Actually for most of this week during my spare time, when I wasn't helping zaipixie on a layout for a new friend, I was working with her, firehead30, and vl_redreign on a Queer as Folk theme picspam posting using the song Proud as the focus. We pow wowed. We'd debate, then debate some more, then agree, then change our minds, and then change our minds again. You get the picture. While Red and Ai might be headed for therapy and Fire and I go find a padded cell, that's okay. We believe in suffering and suffer we did cause we decided no naked pics for a cause. ;P

I sincerely hope you all stop by and check it out. You don't have to friend us to see it. We've left it open to the public.



It is our wish that everyone be able to visit and celebrate Proud.

Ahhhh...the calm before the storm. The launch of Kinnetik was sweet to watch. We see a Brian who is high on life, paying back, what he feels are debts. So indebted to no one, but thankful for everyone. Willing to give props to his staff, his friends, AND his partner. I love how Brian has Linz, Cynthia and Justin on stage with him. Linds because she helped organized the charity from which Brian used the money to start up Kinnetik, Cynthia for coming to warn him about the ad and working for him and lastly Justin for believing in him. That he can do better than his former boss and for creating the name Kinnetik for him.

And the KISS. Don't you just love how Brian establishes to everyone in the room who is important to him at this pivotal moment in his life.."Guys got balls"..."you don't know the half of em."...Ohhh how prophetic.

And the vividness of the colors of the party. Brian's red tie. How pretty everyone looked. Well...except what the hell was Justin wearing? (Me thinks that maybe Brian should have kept the money he returned to Linds and spend it on some decent clothes for Justin). Still..his hair was growing out quite nicely. And it never fails. Every time, every god damn time, I laugh out loud with Brian's "Whoa" look at Debbie's cleavage. LOL....

Anyways...here you go. I give you the opening scene of 406. I hope you enjoy it.

First..let me say Happy Monday to everyone on my flist. I hope this is the beginning of a great week for us all.


This post has been a long time coming has I had meant to do this sooner. I had watched a couple eppies a few weeks ago from Season 3 and after watching 304, I knew I wanted to do a small picspam of the ending scene with Brian and Justin. But before I get to that, I want to mention in watching that eppie that I'd forgotten one of the finest and strongest scenes of that episode, perhaps of the entire season. I'm talking about the scene at the house, the actual confrontation between Claire, Joan, and Brian. Brian was angry as he should be. He was after all fighting for his life, his freedom, but more importantly for his place in that very dysfunctional family. But by the end of that scene, it was clear that he knew he no longer had one. Despite all his words/actions to the contrary about not caring or not needing them in his life, what they had done hurt him deeply.

Which makes the ending of the episode so satisfying. Because it juxtaposed with that ugly scene at Claire's so perfectly. In this scene Brian is believed, treasured, honored, and loved. That must have been so healing for Brian and revealing as well. Because Justin's actions was there for all to see and certainly wasn't lost on Brian. I read somewhere that many felt that this scene was the turning point where Brian goes from passively interfering with the Justin/Ethan relationship to actively interfering. I absolutely agree.

Now I realize that the fandom is very quiet this weekend because of the HP mania and thus no one is going to notice my little posting and that is okay.
This posting is really more or less a bit of a appreciation to zaipixie. You see this last week, she was helping firehead30, vl_redreign and myself with our qaf appreciation thread over at bitchesofbritin journal with not only captions but pix ideas. Ai kept suggesting scenes from Season Five, the season from hell as far as I am concerned. But being the good bitch that I am, I dusted off my S5 DVD's and dutifully cap whatever she suggested. Which as it turned out ended up being a good thing because seeing that I've rarely ever watched any of the episodes I'd forgotten how beautiful....... how truly beautiful and luminious Justin Taylor is especially post 509. He was simply enchanting, breathtaking, and so happy in the latter eppies. All the while I couldn't help thinking, "Now I know why Debbie calls him Sunshine.

I know I usually do my picspams over at bitchesofbritin and not at my journal here anymore but I decided this morning to do one here seeing that we just posted one there yesterday (which in my humble opinion is one of the best ones we ever did). Like I said at the beginning of this post that while this is for Ai, it is also for all of us who still find S5 painful. So here you go, a little reminder that maybe it wasn't all bad.

I love this scene and I never tire of watching it. The Chiquitita dance at the end ranks up there on my BJ faves list. I love seeing Brian come to the realization that he WANTS to be with Justin, having him follow Justin and pull him into his arms, promising he won't forget THIS dance (sob!), and the connection and close interaction while they dance, and THAT KISS..... Life is sweet sometimes.

firehead30, vl_redreign, and zaipixie really pulled out all the stops!!! If you haven't noticed, zaipixie gifted me with a brand new fancy mancy layout. She did it all, she created it the layout, made the graphics, but not only that, she made me two different layouts to switch around when the mood strikes me with various headers to pick from. Both layouts are so beautiful it was hard to pick which one to use first and which header to pick. I thank her so much for this most generous gift. Her creativity always leaves me breathless. I always get excited when I'm notified when she post new graphics. Love to just look at what she does. And just incase you don't have it, here is a link to her grahpics journal Graphics by Ai. Amazing and also I thank them for helping make it easier to turn 32.

And I had a great day with my mama and my boyfriend, Dr. McDreamy. Cillian is so good to me. Even though I had to work graveyard at the hospital,we did go out to dinner. We are planning a little getaway to a historic Inn in a couple weeks. I have to bite the bullet now though cause Cillian bought me something or is planning to (we have to go pick it out) that I've resisted all these years simply because I hate them. Yes...me a lover of all things electronic, computerized, any kind of gaget, you name it, I love it and usually have it or will get it.....doesn't have a cell phone. A fact that pisses off a lot of my friends, or how about when I opened a new account a couple weeks ago at the Aveda Store and the clerk as she was asking for information asked for a cell number looked at me like I must still be using tin cans and string to communicate when I told her I didn't have one. What can I say? I don't like them, they annoy me. I do have a home phone, actually four throughout my home with an answering machine. Cillian also has arranged to have a new sound system put in my ragtop. I bought a new car last fall with all the extras and got so use to that amazing sound system. So a couple weeks ago when I brought out my ragtop out of storage for the warmer months, it's five years old and while the sound system is nice it's nothing to what I got used to. So off to Best Buy next week to have that put in. And I got gift certificates for books...lots of books!!!

And I got a cake!!! And what a beauty of a cake from one of my favorite pastry shops. Mama gave me all kinds of goodies from a day at a spa to bath stuff for my own personal use to magazine subscriptions from more of my faves. And chocolates. I got lots of chocolates.

Honestly it was amazing day made all the more so by all the love that was given to me here within the fandom. I can't express how much it all meant to me. Your gift of friendship is what I truly treasure, value, and will remember.
